Peaty’s Holeshot tubeless repair kit for handlebars, when using tubeless, you need to be prepared for any eventuality. There are some punctures that you cannot repair with sealant: the classic is a pinch flat or snake bite, where the soft tire is pinched between the hard edge of the rim and a much harder rock. If you are lucky enough not to damage the rim, it is very likely that you will end up with two holes in the tire, one above and one right next to the tire bead. Holes near the tire bead are the enemy of sealant, as the centrifugal forces created by a moving wheel throw the sealant outward, on top of the tire, pulling it away from the bead. To make matters worse, during turns the tire bead flexes reopening the hole, so even if the sealant temporarily repairs it, it is likely to reopen with the forces of the turns. Without a tire string, a tire with a pinch flat would end up with an inner tube inside or, worse, would be destined for the trash!
