While the original Forekaster was designed as an XC option in wet conditions, the new version is aimed squarely at modern low-travel (100 mm-130 mm) trail bikes, i.e., for the “downcountry” segment. The new Forekaster glides fast, but also provides solid cornering and braking traction in a wide range of trail conditions. It fits into the Maxxis MTB range between our XC options, which prioritize rolling speed (Aspen, Rekon Race, Ikon, Rekon) and our gravity-designed treads (Dissector, Minion DHF, Minion DHR, Assegai), which emphasize cornering and braking traction. The new Forekaster is the perfect choice for long pedaling on a wide variety of terrain. New to the market, Maxxis is launching its first E50-certified tires, designed specifically for use on E-Bikes with speeds up to 50 km/h.
