Shell Protection is made from a completely new proprietary three-layer fabric, the UF 75Shell . The outermost layer is extremely compact, made with an extremely compact and high-density polyamide, while the second is a state-of-the-art hydrophobic porous membrane with a very high breathability index (RET value of 4) and a waterproof rating of 15,000 mm / l. Every weak point of the panel construction of traditional rain jackets has been deeply analyzed and elaborated: the collar area has been hermetically sealed, all seams (which could compromise the waterproofness) have been moved to the less exposed parts of the jacket and they have been heat-taped for airtight protection; the cuffs are elasticized in order to ensure a perfect fit (the so-called “snug fit”) and finally access to the underlying pockets is easily guaranteed by two retractable openings on the back. Every single detail has been taken care of to avoid any water infiltration; the water repellent zipper is covered with a waterproof fabric and a reflective insert on the back keeps the jacket in place.
