The Merida Ninety-Six 9 XT is a dual-suspension mountain bike that is built for cross-country racing. As the name suggests, the Ninety-Six 9 XT is made with a full Shimano XT groupset. Also featuring a CF5 frame that is built with Nano Matrix Carbon which has fibres bonded together with an epoxy resin andadded nano particles, increasing impact resistance by up to 40% and protecting the integrity of the carbon frame. An inflatable bladder is used in the construction of the frame to ensure there are no wrinkles inside the tube as these can add weight and create weakness. This results in a lighter, stiffer and stronger frame. The cables, housings and brake hoses are clamped under tension to prevent rattling when the trail gets rough and all inlets are completely interchangeable to deal with potential Di2 upgrades, hydraulic hoses, brake cable and gear cable housings etc.

The Ninety-Six 9 XT has 29 wheels and a Fox Rhythm 32 Float front fork with lockout-out and 100mm travel to smooth the bumps on the trails. The suspension fork lockout can be locked directly or via a control on the handlebar. The Fox Performance Elite Float rear shock forms the Race Link single-pivot rear suspension system which is optimised for cross-country racing and 1x drivetrains. A super light (80g) carbon rocker and linkage system create a light, efficient rear end, eliminating pedal-bob.

The Merida Ninety-Six 9 XT is equipped with a 22 speed Shimano XT drivetrain and Shimano XT hydraulic disc brakes for improved control and reliability regardless of the conditions. The Merida Ninety-Six 9 XT is made for cross-country racing and high performance. With a lightweight and durable carbon frame, remote lockout on the suspension fork and quality range of Shimano parts, this bike is all about performing at the highest level and will enable you to get the most out of yourself in a competitive environment.

Features

Nano Matrix Carbon 2019:To protect the integrity of carbon frames, the fibres are bonded together with an epoxy resin with added nano particles, increasing impact resistance by up to 40%.

AWS 2019:When creating the individual carbon elements, an inflatable bladder is used to ensure there are no wrinkles inside the tube as these can add weight and create weakness. This results in a lighter, stiffer and stronger frame.

Carbon Fork 2019:Carbon forks provide superb vibration damping and precise steering. All road bikes feature a full carbon fork; the steerer and fork blades are all made of carbon.

HFS – Hydro Forming System 2019:Tubes are inserted into negative moulds and a hot emulsion of water and oil is forced through at pressure, enabling them to be formed into complex shapes.

X-Taper Headtube 2019:Using a tapered head tube with 1 1/8″ bearings in the top and 1 1/4″ or 1 1/2″ in the bottom creates superb stiffness and precise, confidence inspiring steering.

Race Link 2019:A single-pivot rear suspension system optimised for XC riding and 1x drivetrains. A super light (80g) carbon rocker and linkage system create a light, efficient rear end, eliminating pedal-bob.

Internal Cable 2019:Cables are routed through the frame, entering and exiting through smooth sockets. The bike looks neat, whilst the cables are protected from moisture and dirt.

Smart Entry 2019:Cables, housings and brake hoses are clamped under tension to prevent rattling when the trail gets rough. All inlets are completely interchangeable to deal with Di2, hydraulic hoses, brake cable and gear cable housings etc.

Di2 Ready 2019:Bikes/frames with the symbol Di2 Ready are prepared for the installation of Di2 technology with battery mounting in the seat post or within the fork steerer.

12-148 Thru-Axle Boost 2019:New Boost standard wider axle widths; 110mm front and 148mm rear, allowing a shallower spoke angle for stiffer wheels, especially beneficial in 29ers.

C-S Post Mount Disc 2019:Post mount disc brake calipers fit directly onto the seat stay for a strong and light connection whilst a chainstay post mount positions the caliper on the chainstay within the rear triangle for extra protection and better distribution of braking forces. Another benefit is that internal cable routing is also easier and neater via the chainstay.

15-110 Thru-Axle Boost 2019:New Boost standard wider axle widths; 110mm front and 148mm rear, allowing a shallower spoke angle for stiffer wheels, especially beneficial in 29ers.
