Here is the new Specialized Propero 4 helmet – the aerodynamics of the S-Works Evade 3 combined with the outstanding ventilation of the S-Works Prevail 3, and in addition, the comfort and reliability of all Specialized helmets, and a 5-star rating from the Virginia Tech Institute. Every detail of the Propero 4 was designed with the equation of Aerodynamics + Ventilation + Lightness = Speed in mind. In developing the Propero 4, aerodynamics was the starting point, and to that end Specialized performed numerous CFD and wind tunnel tests. With the profile inspired by the S-Works Evade 3 it already gains 4 watts, or 15 seconds over a 40km distance. Taking a cue from the S-Works Prevail 3 helmet, Specialized achieved its goals in terms of quality by incorporating the rear vents of the S-Works Prevail 3, and introducing 2 mm micro-channels that create turbulence in the airflow through the helmet, so as to create a continuous and refreshing passage of air. In addition to aerodynamics and ventilation, the Propero 4 comes with meticulous attention to detail, applying cutting-edge technologies such as MIPS and a sealing system designed for comfort.
