Shimano XT CS-M8100 12V cassette. Shimano redesigned the rear hubs by integrating the Micro Spline technology in view of the 12-speed cassettes. They retain the width of the existing rear hubs but allow the addition of a 10 tooth pinion to the 12 speed transmission system. The body of the Micro Spline rear hubs has 23 smaller, uniformly distributed angled grooves that limit damage to the sprocket. This also translates into a more uniform load distribution, which allows us to lighten the weight of the rear hub more.
