The Maxxis Assegai tire is named after the iron-tipped spear used by the Zulu people of South Africa. Greg Minnaar, a three-time World Downhill Champion and South African native, thought it was an appropriate name for a tire ready to do battle on the mountain. The high caps attack dust and dirt to find traction, but also offer support and safety on wet roots and rocks. While other tires excel only in certain conditions, the new Assegai is built to go fast anywhere.
Brand new to the market, Maxxis is launching its first E50-certified tires, designed specifically for use on E-Bikes with speeds up to 50 mph.
