If you look closely, the Perfetto RoS 2 is a long-sleeved version of the Gabba RoS 2. So is it just a warmer Gabba? Not quite. The long sleeves completely transform it into a jacket, but a jacket that covers a wide range of conditions. As with the Gabba, the label “RoS” indicates that it excels in dry conditions thanks to its high breathability as well as in wet conditions due to the exclusive GORE-TEX INFINIUM WINDSTOPPER fabrics Castelli. There is a lightweight version lined with water-resistant fleece on the front surfaces and a lighter, more elastic fabric on the back that maximizes breathability while providing excellent water repellency. The Perfetto RoS 2 Jacket insulates you from the cold wind and is much more breathable than the typical polyurethane membranes used in most jackets trying to compete with the Perfetto. When you stay drier, there is no need for so many layers. The nice thing about this jacket is that it does not have an integrated insulation, so you can wear it with a thin base layer in mild conditions, while adding an insulating layer (a thermal jersey or the Alpha 2nd Layer from Castelli) will work great for cold temperatures. The choice is yours. The “2” in the name refers to the updates from the last version, including a YKK Vislon zip that opens both from the top and bottom, for greater ventilation adjustment. The reflective insert on the back is more visible, the seam on the top of the shoulder has been moved to the back, and the three pockets are more spacious. While the Perfetto maintains a snug fit, the new model offers a bit more comfort in the chest, shoulders, and biceps. The jacket that every cyclist must have in their arsenal.
